Dolls House

I made this for my niece's 4th birthday, though I think my DD was more interested in playing with it. I will make one for DD when she is a bit older (and I can be bothered!!).

I found this tutorial and if I could post a link properly I would. I made some slight changes in that I didn't use the plastic suggested and just got some thick cardboard from the newsagency. I also didn't use wadding but I changed it for fusible fleece (just because I had some). I just hand sewed this together to hold it in place and put the 'sticky' bit of the fleece on the outside so it would stick to the material when wrapped (which it did!!). It also meant I didn't need to use the tape to wrap the batting around. I did do the exact instructions for a mock up one, but found it too small so made a larger one.

Sewing Room Progress

Ok, well here are the shots of my sewing room...

It is only a weekend job and seeing as we own our own business that is open 7 days it makes it very slow going.

Here is the laundry finally in the right spot.

And here is the wall and door into the laundry (ok, the door and the wall frame).

Flipsy Skirt

I am in love with this make it perfect skirt. It was easy and looks great (well I think so anyway!!) Sorry about the model not wanting me to adjust her to fit the skirt better. And yes, those who are observant will notice the shoes are on the wrong feet.

But wait....Its reversable!!

Sewing Room in Progress.....

Ok, here's what is soon to be my sewing room (by soon I mean anytime this year!) It will also have a new laundry. I should have taken before shots but all there really was in the room was a built in and a toilet.

Pin Cushion Swap

Well 1st March is here (Happy Birthday Mum) and I was FINALLY able to open a little package that I had hidden from myself to avoid temptation. A lovely Japanese inspired pin cushion, which is just so pretty. It has already had use tonight and passed with flying colours (my sewing tonight not so successful). Thankyou to my gift giver (Unlike others over in EB I am completely clueless - although I could do some investigation I reckon......)

Unfortunately my recipient didn't receive hers (it's sitting at her local post office). Hopefully she will like it when she opens it tomorrow.

Sew- Jo Coming Back

Well I have been very slack over here in blog land. My local SL had been closed for months after a fire and the resultant water damage. I know I have showed off some gorgeous material but I didn't want to waste these with my very beginner sewing skills with a fist attempt at something. I did in my hiatus make a bend the rules jacket I made a month or so ago for DD. Nothing special but great for day care.
