Flower Girl

My daughter was flower girl for my best friends wedding and was just such an absolute delight on the day. She sat up the front next to us (bridal party) for the whole church service. Only lifted her dress and flashed the crowd once! I made the dress for her, so I was very worried that people may not like it. It turned out people loved her shoes more (should have taken pic of those!!) but everyone did tell me what a wonderful girl she was. And she was. Here are the pics

Dolls House

I made this for my niece's 4th birthday, though I think my DD was more interested in playing with it. I will make one for DD when she is a bit older (and I can be bothered!!).

I found this tutorial and if I could post a link properly I would. I made some slight changes in that I didn't use the plastic suggested and just got some thick cardboard from the newsagency. I also didn't use wadding but I changed it for fusible fleece (just because I had some). I just hand sewed this together to hold it in place and put the 'sticky' bit of the fleece on the outside so it would stick to the material when wrapped (which it did!!). It also meant I didn't need to use the tape to wrap the batting around. I did do the exact instructions for a mock up one, but found it too small so made a larger one.

Sewing Room Progress

Ok, well here are the shots of my sewing room...

It is only a weekend job and seeing as we own our own business that is open 7 days it makes it very slow going.

Here is the laundry finally in the right spot.

And here is the wall and door into the laundry (ok, the door and the wall frame).

Flipsy Skirt

I am in love with this make it perfect skirt. It was easy and looks great (well I think so anyway!!) Sorry about the model not wanting me to adjust her to fit the skirt better. And yes, those who are observant will notice the shoes are on the wrong feet.

But wait....Its reversable!!

Sewing Room in Progress.....

Ok, here's what is soon to be my sewing room (by soon I mean anytime this year!) It will also have a new laundry. I should have taken before shots but all there really was in the room was a built in and a toilet.

Pin Cushion Swap

Well 1st March is here (Happy Birthday Mum) and I was FINALLY able to open a little package that I had hidden from myself to avoid temptation. A lovely Japanese inspired pin cushion, which is just so pretty. It has already had use tonight and passed with flying colours (my sewing tonight not so successful). Thankyou to my gift giver (Unlike others over in EB I am completely clueless - although I could do some investigation I reckon......)

Unfortunately my recipient didn't receive hers (it's sitting at her local post office). Hopefully she will like it when she opens it tomorrow.

Sew- Jo Coming Back

Well I have been very slack over here in blog land. My local SL had been closed for months after a fire and the resultant water damage. I know I have showed off some gorgeous material but I didn't want to waste these with my very beginner sewing skills with a fist attempt at something. I did in my hiatus make a bend the rules jacket I made a month or so ago for DD. Nothing special but great for day care.

My first Order

Here is my first order of fabrics. They are so devine I am in love. My SL is currenly closed and I am very limited with any other choices for fabric. This store I ordere from however is at least in the same state and only a couple of hours away where I plan to go for a hens night in a couple of weeks, so will definitely be visiting in person.

Pinny# 2

Here is a dress for DD I made out of scrap material left over from Christmas presents. It's not entirely wearable but it's not made too badly!! DD liked it and that's the main thing.

Something for Me

This skirt is the first thing that I have made for myself. It was VERY easy. It doesn't fit as well as I had hoped, but not too bad for my first go. I will definitely make some more when my local material shop re opens.

Turning Japanese

This cute little top is from a Japanese pattern book. I had actually made the top over a month ago but couldn't figure (ie read the japanese) to know how much elastic to use!!

Christmas Present for me!!!!

These are the patterns I orderd on behalf of my husband. He did get given a list of what I wanted but he is very busy leading up to christmas so I ended up getting money and "permission" to order.

Cork Board

This was a Christmas present I made for my 10yr old niece. It is a corkboard, with pockets down the bottom for a few pens and a pad holder. I was quite happywith it overall, however the back is slightly messy but when it's hanging you aren't able to see it.
